Liturgy is the “source and summit” of the Christian life. Our daily living flows from the grace of God present in the liturgy and we in turn offer it back to God in this act of communal worship. More and more, the role of the assembly is seen in contemporary worship. An assembly member may serve in an additional liturgical role such as the role of lector, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, altar server, cantor, choir member, or usher-greeter.
