Martha’s Meals is a volunteer hospitality program that Christ the King Parish initiated in January 2009. Our volunteer men and women are honored to assist bereaved families as they prepare to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial for their loved ones.
We are happy to share pages of time-honored recipes (used at our family functions, neighborhood parties, festivals, and potluck get-togethers) put together in a cookbook made just for you. They make great stocking stuffers or secret Santa gifts. Cookbooks are on sale now. To purchase, call the parish office at 419-475-4348. You can pick up a copy or we will send it to your home. May your kitchens and homes be blessed with good food, healthy living, and a Christ-like love for one another. |

All Saints Day is a feast in which Catholics celebrate the life of all saints known and unknown. It is celebrated on November 1st and this year it is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Masses will be held on Monday October 31st at 7:30 PM and on Tuesday November 1st at 8:00 AM, 12:15, 1:15 (School Mass), and 7:30 PM.
Father, All Powerful and ever-living God, today we rejoice in the holy men and women of every time and place. May their prayers bring us your forgiveness and love. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen |

Power of the Pen Parish Poetry Outreach: Poems of Good News |
|

The members of the Christ the King Junior High Power of the Pen Team invite any parishioner who loves to write poetry to join us on Wednesday evenings beginning October 26 from 7-8:30 PM in the school library. We will review the basics of poetry writing, brainstorming and writing exercises, examine published poems and then create, share and edit our own. Our overall topic is the Good News throughout the Liturgical calendar, beginning with the Feast of Christ the King, through Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, the Passion, Easter and Pentecost. Our purpose is to spread the Good News through poetry. Our goal is the creation of a book of poems on this topic to be published in June, 2012. Moderator is 6th grade teacher Cindy Roberts (author C.M. Millen) and participation is open to all. No charge, but please bring a pencil and paper and an openness to share writing and care about others as well . Previous experience not necessary. Anyone (even outside of our parish) interested in our topic is very welcome to join us. The Good News is meant to be written about and shared by all.
