After having a few months off, the choirs will begin their rehearsals the week of September 5, 2011. Have you ever considered singing at Mass, perhaps as a cantor or with one of our choirs? Now is the perfect opportunity to join the Music Ministry at Christ the King. We are always looking for new members!
The parish choir sings at the 10:00 AM Mass on Sundays with rehearsals Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM. The folk choir sings at the 12:00 Mass on Sundays with rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM. Both choirs sing at special liturgies throughout the seasons of the church year. Cantors lead the assembly during the Responsorial Psalm and throughout the entire liturgy. If you are interested in joining one of the choirs or becoming a cantor please contact Kathy Mumy. |

Hello all interested moms!
Adrian, Suzanne, and I have completed our planning for the mom's group. We have decided on the below dates for September & October for our first meetings, as well as the book that we will be using. We have taken into consideration schedules and childcare issues. Please know that as we tried our best to come up with meeting times that fits everyone's schedule, we know that some moms may only be able to join us once a month at times. We truly hope this doesn't turn anyone away because we look forward to you joining us!

On Saturday, October 1, 2011, Christ the King's Tuition Assistance Program (CK TAP) will be hosting our fifth annual Main Event, The Giving Tree at The Toledo Club. We are looking forward to this event and hoping you will help make this our most successful one to date.
The Giving Tree is a $50 per plate dinner auction to benefit tuition assistance at Christ the King. All proceeds from this evening support tuition assistance for Christ the King families who are unable to afford the ever-increasing cost of Catholic education.
The cost of a Catholic education grows substantially each year. Much of that cost is passed on to parents in the form of tuition. Some of our Christ the King families are fortunate in that they have the resources to pay the tuition. But others are faced with substantial sacrifice in providing a Catholic education for their children.
Some families are experiencing severe hardships due to medical difficulties or job-related changes and find they cannot afford the tuition they once had been able to pay. Last year due to the generous support of people like you, we were able to provide over forty families with assistance totaling over $45,000. Your gift will benefit families that find they are struggling to keep their children in school here at Christ the King. There are several ways that you can help.
- Consider attending the event. Your invitation should arrive soon.
- We are in need of live and silent auction items. If you or your business can provide something, large or small, your donated item will be on display and sold by auction. An acknowledgement will appear with your item in our program on our website, and in written communication with The Giving Tree guests.
- This year we will have a Black Tie White Elephant auction table. We know everyone has a new or almost new item somewhere in their house that they would be willing (and happy) to part with. You know those great deals you picked up on clearance and then never used once they got home? Or that item you picked up at another auction that you really didn't think you would be the high bidder on. Or that gift that you got from a well-meaning in-law or co-worker that you are just waiting for a chance to re-gift? What about that wedding gift from your great aunt that is still in a box in your closet? Those are the things we are looking for! They can be large or small items. We will take them all and make them into fabulous auction items! This will be a great opportunity for all of you to do some spring (or fall) cleaning as well as help a great cause.
- We would like to invite you to become a sponsor. A complete list of sponsor benefits is detailed in the sponsorship form available from this link.
On behalf of all who will benefit, thank you for your generosity. Feel free to call 419-475-4348, extension 400 or send us an e-mail to discuss your gift, arrange for pick-up of an auction item or with any questions you may have.
