Reverend William J. Rose
Christ the King Parish
4100 Harvest Lane
Toledo, Ohio 43623-4399

Dear Father Rose,

Late last year I asked our Diocesan Schools' Superintendent to initiate a process to identify, evaluate and address the major challenges facing Catholic education in the Metro-Toledo area. It is no secret that demographic and economic factors, among others, are having an impact on both Catholic and public schools. As a result, a project team was appointed for this task.

In February I summarized the recommendations I received from the project team. The goal is to ensure that PK-8 Catholic education in Metro-Toledo maintains its Catholic identity and high quality, and is sustainable into the future. At that time I also detailed the next phase of the process, that is, a consultation of the broader community regarding the project team's recommendations.

That consultation has taken place in two ways across Metro-Toledo:

* A professionally directed community survey, the results of which are now available, which reflects the input received from key stakeholders of our educational ministry, including parents.

* Several geographically diverse face-to-face community meetings at which interested parish and community leaders and parents could participate in hearing, discussing and questioning the project team's initial recommendations.

The consultative process has provided much valuable information and feedback to supplement the significant work also being accomplished by the Superintendent's Office with respect to the initial recommendations.

After careful consideration of all these steps over the last four months, I am asking the entire Catholic community of Metro-Toledo to join me in supporting the following steps which are meant to ensure the identity, quality and sustainability of our education ministry:

Welcome Mr. Molter

Dear Members of Christ the King Parish:

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I write to you as the new principal of Christ the King School. As a practicing Catholic and professional educator, I find it a privilege and responsibility to represent the students, parents, staff, and members of the parish in a manner that focuses on the mission to educate the students of Christ the King School in the Catholic faith as well as academics.

Welcome_2011_1

I am married to the former Kristi Marie Delp and we have two beautiful daughters, Stacia and Katelyn. The importance of family has always been the focal point of our lives and will always continue to be of utmost importance to us. I truly believe my experiences as an educator, spouse, and parent have led me to accept the calling from Jesus Christ to lead Christ the King School. My two daughters graduated from St. Clement School, Notre Dame Academy, and Mercy College of Northwest Ohio. I received both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from the University of Toledo, and recently completed the Education Administration Licensure Program through the University of Findlay. I am a Highly Qualified certified teacher for grades 1-8, and licensed as a PK-6, 4-9, and 5-12 principal from the Ohio Department of Education. As an educator, I believe all learners are capable of academic success. My main goal is to insure that every Christ the King School student will experience success.

I have taught in the Swanton Local School District for over a decade. In addition, I helped coach the varsity boys' basketball team to its first winning season in many years. I leave the community of Swanton with a heavy heart because of the many positive relationships established throughout my tenure with Swanton Schools. However, I am ready to use my talents to build relationships with the Christ the King community.

Honestly, not many things could have pulled me away from the Swanton community; however, Christ the King is "that" special place! I am very excited to establish new relationships in our school and parish and look forward to serving as your principal.

As the principal of Christ the King School it is my vision to provide a faith-based environment in the Catholic spirit where students are engaged in rigorous curriculum made relevant by a staff committed to creating positive relationships with our students, parents, and members of the parish. Moreover, all decisions made will be student-centered with the teachings of Jesus Christ as the foundation. Iam excited to be a part of this nurturing process!

Finally, I believe it is essential as your principal to be involved actively in the Christ the King community. Since I live two minutes away, you can be sure to see me at many parish and school activities and functions. I am most excited to meet many of you during these events.

Yours in Christ,

Jon K. Molter
