Don't be afraid... Today a savior has been born for you!"
Why would God become a human?
St. Irenaeus tells us the answer,
"God became human so that we might become divine."
So what lies beneath our fears? "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you NOT to be that? You are a child of God! Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won't feel unsure around you.
We were born to make the manifest the Glory of God that is in us. It is not just in some of us... It is in everyone!
As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandela
Explore your own call to this greatness, consider reading the book, Rediscovering Catholicism by Matthew Kelly. Copies of the book are being distributed free of charge at all Masses this Christmas at Christ the King as free gift through the sponsorship of the Altar-Rosary Society. The Dynamic Catholic Institute has a special offer on their website for free books to share with others.
Come hear what others say about life and the book at an informal gathering hosted by Fr. Bill and Suzanne Marciniak
