This year we are offering a variety of options for the study of the Spiritual Excercises in hopes that many will be able to find a way to experience them. Read through the descriptions below and find the one that fits your life best.
The Spiritual Exercises 19th Annotation
This is an 8 to 9 month retreat consisting of a dynamic development of God's love working in a human, faith-filled heart causing the retreatant to take God's love very seriously. Each of the four sections of the Exercises is a progressively developing dynamic highlighted in the grace and colloquy of various meditations and contemplations in which you, pray for what you really desire, grow in self-discovery by coming in touch with the deepest, truest God-given desires of your heart, allow God's love to discipline your heart in the stability and spontaneity of the Holy Spirit, pray for, be, and act what you truly desire - the graced integration of faith and maturity, and seek and find God in all things and all things in God.
Sessions beginning of the week of Sept.6 to sometime in May, 2011, individual sessions are planned jointly with retreatant and director. Time commitment includes 30 to 60 minutes of daily prayer on given material includes 5 minutes of journaling and meet with a Director for 45 minutes each week. Fees include a one time $25 material fee and $80 monthly fee.
Exercises in the World
This is a 9 session program that will give you an overview of the main themes found in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius
Each month there will be an experience of group prayer, an informative presentation, thoughtful discussion with others, guided prayer and encouragement and support for the spiritual journey we call life. Suzanne Marciniak will facilitate session on Tuesday evening noted below from 7-9 pm. A bible and journal and $20 are required.

A Way to God with Fr. Anthony de Mello
This is a 6 week program designed by Fr. Anthony de Mello which describes and explores different areas of spirituality. Through storytelling and insightful teaching Fr. deMello helps you turn your life's focus towards a more centered and peaceful state. The object is to attain peace in the midst of your busy life through prayer exercises in order for you to find God in all things...
Each week we will watch a half hour video and practice meditative exercises together, so that you'll be able to do them at home during the week. Members of the group will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ask questions. Sessions will be held Wednesday evenings beginning September 29, Fr. Dominic and Martha Pawlicki will guide you through the program. There will be a session fee of $15.00.
Praying with Scripture
This is an 8 week program, which will introduce you to the stages of Lectio Divina, a prayer practice that allows you to center your heart on the word of God, and be open to God's communication with you. The program allows you to practice Lectio Divina throughout each week as you read and reflect on scripture passages given, that center on the life, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Each week there will be an experience of group prayer and reflection, as well as an opportunity for individual spiritual direction within a small group based on your personal prayer experiences. Sessions will be held Thursday evenings, beginning February 24-April 14 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and will be facilitated by Tom and Suzanne Marciniak and will have a session fee of $25.00.
3 Day Preached Retreats at Manresa Retreat Center
There are weekend Conference Retreats for both men and women. During these retreats a number of talks are given to the group. Other common forms of prayer are available like the rosary, benediction, stations of the cross, or quiet time with Eucharistic devotions. You can get away from the ordinary demands of life to get a better perspective on the deeper meaning of your life. You can also go online to view the retreat center and learn about other offerings. Location Manresa Retreat Center in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan www.manresa-sj.org several dates are available during the year but a Christ the King men's group plans to attend one weekend in October and a women's group the weekend November 19-21,2010. At Manresa, there is no set amount charged for a conference retreat. People are asked to make a freewill offering according to their means. The actual cost is $217.00 per person including meals and accomidations.
