"The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst. He will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, He will sing joyfully because of you, as one sings at festivals."
Love changes everything. It changed God! He emptied himself and became one of us. He sings with joy over us and renews us in the power of his love.

Second Week of Advent 12-04-2009 |

"God is leading Israel in joy by the light of his glory."
"The word of God came to John in the desert."
Deserts are places of silence, starkness, quiet beauty much like our world after an evening snow storm. (Which we don't want by the way!) The silence and the quiet beauty stir something deep within us. God comes to us in those moments to lead us to a place of even deeper peace and joy.

Malcolm Muggeridge wrote of the time he escorted Mother Teresa into a New York television studio for an interview on a network morning show. “A program,” he wrote, “which helps Americans from coast to coast to munch their breakfast cereal and gulp down their coffee.” He went on to say her interviewer was a man “with a drooping green mustache, a purple nose and scarlet hair.”
