Sacrament Of Baptism

The community rejoices with expecting parents and offers its help to prepare for the birth and baptism of their baby. The Church extends a special blessing to expecting couples the first Sunday of each month. Those participating are asked to gather at the Baptismal Font immediately following the 10:00 AM Mass. Sessions to prepare parents for the baptism of their child are usually held the last Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center. Parents are encouraged to attend before the birth of the baby. Baptisms are celebrated on one Sunday of each month at 1:30 PM. Please contact Suzanne Marciniak,  419-475-4348, ext. 109 at the parish office to make arrangements for Baptism and preparation before the birth of the baby.

Sacraments Of First Penance And First Eucharist

First Penance, First Eucharist and Confirmation Director: Sandi Trabbic, 419-475-4348, ext. 131

Preparation for these important Sacraments begins in the Summer with one Parent and Candidate session in July, another in August and continues into the school year with two additional Parent and Candidate sessions, one in the Fall and one in the Winter.

First Penance is celebrated here at Christ the King in January and First Eucharist is held at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral the first Sunday in May.

Both the understanding and reception of the sacraments are integral to the Catholic way of life. Realizing that the home has the most lasting influence on faith development and the sacramental life of children, our sacramental programs heavily involve the parents.

These programs include all the children of Christ the King parish whether in religious education, our own grade school, special education, or other schools. We belong to and form one parish family.
